The Fish in Midtown Houston is next-level amazing. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is on point—great atmosphere, great energy, and even better food and drinks. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the bar service. Shoutout to Alfredo, the absolute GOAT bartender 🙌🏽. He was friendly, attentive, and clearly knows his craft. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it shows in every drink he makes. And let me tell you… the lemon drops were PHENOMENAL 🍋✨—perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously good. Easily some of the best lemon drops I’ve had in Houston.
If you’re looking for amazing drinks, top-tier service, and a place that delivers every time, The Fish is it. Alfredo alone is worth the visit, but combined with the food and atmosphere, this spot is a must. I’ll definitely be back—again and again. 👏🏽🍸

I could never say enough about this place. The atmosphere, the delicious food, the hospitality, specifically ALFREDO! Watching the way that he works the restaurant is truly mesmerizing. He remembers everyone’s drink order (even when it was my second time long ago) and never skips a beat when it comes to making sure everyone is happy and drinking haha. I will come here again and again for him (and of course the food and drinks)!

Apparently this place has been around for over 20 years and I somehow never noticed it. The food was fine—nothing amazing, but not bad either—and the drink selection was decent. The service was good, though, and the atmosphere at night is really nice. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends or have a relaxed, maybe even romantic, evening. I’d come back, but probably more for drinks and a few appetizers than a full meal.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was unmatched. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy—dim lighting, sleek décor, and music that sets the tone without being overpowering. It feels like the kind of place where you could come for a casual night out with friends or a special celebration and it would hit every time.
The service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. They offered spot-on recommendations that took the whole experience to another level.
And the food? Absolutely unforgettable. Every dish was packed with layers of flavor that made you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate what was happening on your plate. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was executed with creativity and precision. You could tell that the kitchen really takes pride in crafting dishes that aren’t just good—they’re memorable.
This spot checks every box: dope ambiance, top-notch service, and flavors that will have you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished dessert. A must-try.
Sn: Cassandra is the best hostess, super
Friendly and great taste in music. Alfredo, the bartender makes the best most delicious drinks. I will definitely be back!

I visited The Fish for a friend’s birthday on a weekday around 7 PM. Parking was fairly easy during the week, but I imagine it could be more difficult on weekends since it’s mainly street parking.
We were seated at the bar and received fast, attentive service. We started with edamame, which had a nice spicy flavor, and dynamite shrimp, which was heavily breaded but still good.
We also tried the Philly sushi roll (with a custom request the kitchen was able to accommodate) and the salmon entrée, which came with a side salad, tempura asparagus, and Brussels sprouts—the Brussels sprouts were the standout of the meal.
The salmon was a bit underwhelming and slightly overcooked, but the lychee martinis during happy hour were excellent and only $8—some of the best I’ve had.
Overall, I enjoyed the service and atmosphere and would return, preferably on a weekday.

Wow!! I came here for a New Year’s eve dinner and had such high quality sushi for a lovely price. We had the lickety split and black widow & eel nigiri. Everything we had was amazing from the drink to the appetizers to the star of the show, the sushi! The fish was incredibly high quality and so tender and buttery like. I can’t believe I’ve never come here before. Very dreamy decor and such a great date night spot! The service was also really good and so attentive. Absolutely no misses last night, check out this spot for some high quality fish that won’t break the bank and will leave you satisfied. I’ll be back!

Certainly one of my favorite restaurants for sushi in the Houston area. The atmosphere is both elegant and upbeat which makes for a fun dining experience. My go-to appetizers are the crab puffs and spicy edamame. The specialty spicy mama roll is absolutely delicious. Service has been excellent each time I’ve visited.

The sushi was better than expected. I loved the mango salmon roll, Blazing Tuna (was a tiny bit spicy), and miso soup. Overall, great experience, delicious food, nice vibes, and excellent service. They can accommodate allergies too. For dessert, we had mochi (vanilla, strawberry, and matcha), and the matcha was my favorite.

Wow, wow! I came here for Valentine’s Day and everything was absolutely remarkable. From the moment you walk into The Fish, the hospitality is warm, welcoming, and truly exceptional.
The food was outstanding — incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every bite was a reminder of why this place comes so highly recommended.
A special thank you to our server, Jorge, who took amazing care of us. His level of commitment and attentiveness was beyond anything we’ve experienced before. Since it was our first time dining here, he patiently walked us through the menu, answered all our questions, and made thoughtful recommendations. He truly made our Valentine’s Day celebration feel special.
If you’re looking for phenomenal food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend The Fish. We will definitely be coming back!

First and definitely not the last, sushi was sooo fresh, the dynamite shrimp were hot and fresh as well. The house red was to my liking, my favorite was their creme brulee, had to keep from licking the plate. Bought way more than I could eat and looking forward to doing it again😋

Our experience at The Fish was nothing short of spectacular. This Houston gem delivered an unforgettable dining journey from start to finish. The sushi was simply exceptional, with each piece showcasing incredible freshness and expert preparation.
We savored a stunning surf and turf roll featuring buttery Kobe beef that melted in our mouths. The lobster puffs were light, airy, and packed with flavor, while the unagi was perfect and glazed.
To cap off an already perfect meal, we indulged in a glass of Louis XIII cognac. We were pleasantly surprised to find it offered at what must be the most reasonable price in all of Houston. This level of quality and value is a rare find.
Beyond the amazing food, the service was impeccable. The staff and management were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit. And you absolutely cannot leave without trying the carrot cake—it is, without exaggeration, the best!
The entire experience was so outstanding that we broke our usual rule and went back again the very next day. The Fish has earned its place as one of our absolute favorite restaurants.
